Saturday, May 20th at 2 pm on the Second Floor
Join us for a free public screening of film clips from THE BLACK MONK with Emmy-nominated and award winning Essex County filmmakers, Marylou & Jerome Bongiorno. There will be a discussion and Q&A on the art of filmmaking, the process of adapting a classic short story, as well as insights from featured speakers from Nutley.
This fiction film, inspired by the eponymous classic short story by Anton Chekhov, was created in association with The Staten Island Museum. Guest speakers will discuss the scenes filmed in Nutley in a private botanical garden and interiors of a 19th century home.
This program is made possible in part by funds from the New Jersey State Council on the Arts Department of State, a Partner Agency of the National Endowment for the Arts and administered by the Essex County Division of Cultural and Historic Affairs.
