2026 Children’s Summer Reading Program Guidelines

Babies to Students entering Grade 5 in Fall 2026

Nutley library card holders can track the number of minutes they read (or have read to them) and log them to earn prizes all summer long. The more minutes you log in, the greater your chances of winning a prize! This program is available to all ages, from babies to adults.

How to Register & Log Reading

Sign up for a Beanstack account at nutleypubliclibrary.beanstack.org and start logging your minutes read! Have you already created an account in Beanstack for previous reading challenges? If so, please use your existing login information. If you do not have a previous account, please sign up at nutleypubliclibrary.beanstack.org or pick up an application at the Children’s Desk. Log your minutes and submit virtual tickets from June 1 – August 11 2026 at nutleypubliclibrary.beanstack.org once your account has been created. If you are not able to access your account online, please visit the Prize Table at the library to log your minutes or submit virtual tickets.

Sign-up Goodie Bag & Weekly Prizes

Children and teens can pick up a sign-up bag with lots of goodies inside starting June 2. They can also collect weekly prizes at our Prize Table from June 29 to August 7. Read for at least 30 minutes a week to be eligible for a prize: cool giveaways for grades 6 – 12, exclusive Brag Tag for ages 3 – 12, or an age-appropriate toy for babies and toddlers. You can also spin our Prize Wheel for a chance to win more tickets.

Virtual Tickets & Big Prizes

For every 30 minutes you read, you will earn a virtual ticket. You can then enter these virtual tickets into our Big Prize contest.

The last day to enter virtual tickets to be considered for Big Prizes is Tuesday, August 11 by 11:59 PM.

You must be a Nutley Resident and active Nutley Card Member to win a Big Prize.
Only one Big Prize win per person allowed. Winners will be announced at our End of Summer Show: Eyes of the Wild on Thursday, August 13 at 2:00 PM.
