Mobile WiFi Hotspots

Nutley Public Library is pleased to loan free Mobile WiFi Hotspot Kits to Nutley Township resident card holders to increase their access to the Internet and the library’s many digital resources. A mobile WiFi Hotspot is a small device you can use to connect a wireless enabled device, such as a laptop, smartphone, tablet or gaming console to the Internet. Mobile WiFi HotSpots are portable, so you can connect your device almost wherever you go, whether at home, on business, in the park or on vacation.

There are five hotspots available for borrowing and each hotspot can connect up to twenty devices to the Internet anywhere service is covered by the AT&T LTE network within the United States. To check AT&T’s service coverage area within the United States, please visit AT&T’s Coverage Map. 

ELIGIBILITY AND LOAN PERIOD

  • The Nutley Public Library lends hotspots to resident card holders ages eighteen (18) and older with library cards in good standing.
  • Hotspots are available on a first-come, first-served basis and the loan limit is one (1) hotspot device per household at any given time.
  • The lending period is fourteen (14) days and the hotspot cannot be renewed or reserved.
  • After a borrower’s lending period ends, the same borrower, or a household member of the same borrower, may not borrow from the library’s hotspot collection for twenty-eight (28) days.

CHECKOUT AND RETURNS

  • To borrow a hotspot, a patron must present their library card to the Circulation Staff and complete a loan agreement form.
  • The patron is responsible for damage, loss, theft and/or International Roaming charges accrued due to data usage outside of the United States.
  • If technical problems are encountered, patrons should return the device immediately to the Circulation Staff. 
  • Hotspots may be returned to a staff member at the Nutley Public Library OR in Nutley Public Library’s Outside Book Drop. Hotspots are NOT to be returned at a shared BCCLS library. 
  • An overdue charge of $5.00 per day up to the full replacement cost of $214.00 will be charged for a hotspot that is not returned.
  • Patrons are responsible for replacement costs if the hotspot or any parts are lost, stolen, damaged or not returned.
