Staff from the Nutley Public Library are excited to announce a new book discussion club for adults starting in May, that will meet once each season. “Page to Screen” is a book club were members compare and contrast the movie to the book it was based on. We will examine aspects such as the storyline, settings, characters, as well as highlight the best merits of each format. We will also have a lively discussion on which one you liked better and why.
Members will read and watch the movie prior to each discussion. Don’t have the movie or book at home? Not a problem, copies of both will be free to borrow with your library card a month before the discussion.
Our first discussion will celebrate the 25th anniversary of the theatrical release of the blockbuster film Jurassic Park, directed by Steven Spielberg. The film was based on the 1990 novel by Michael Crichton about a theme park filled with living dinosaurs has launched a multimedia franchise that has gone on to gross over billions of dollars worldwide. Its newest film, Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom will be released later this year.
